Should I have been surprised? Of course not.
The old battery had a dead cell and was replaced with a freshly charged battery. The car did not turn over upon installation of the new battery, so that issue was put off until the next weekend.

Labor Day Weekend Fun

OMG - I Found Rust!
I was doing a much closer inspection of the body and I found one or two spots where rust is cropping up. I temporarily treated them with WD-40 to try to stave it off until I can get the car to a body shop.
