I am rather shocked that Paramount would give permission for someone to do this. I think it is smart, however, I am just shocked the powers that be over in Brand Allegiance Department think the same way. It takes a tremendous amount of courage the let the public have its way with your intellectual property.

Fan films have lived a sheltered life on the knee of people like George Lucas for some time. He allows fans to make any film they like in the Star Wars universe as long as they do not profit from it.

Almost every popular sci-fi/fantasy show or movie has had a fan film made. One of the most impressive works being created today is The Hunt For Gollum – a story about Gandalf setting Strider to find the loathsome creature Gollum.
